Cellular Internet Backup Device Up for Sale by Eero for Its Router Users

Eero, a leading name in home and business networking solutions, has announced the launch of two new products: the Eero PoE 7 and the Eero Signal. These devices are designed to cater to the high-bandwidth needs of businesses and residential properties with wired infrastructure.

Firstly, the Eero PoE 7, a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 power over ethernet router, will be available in the U.S. and Canada from November, priced at $499.99. This device shares similar specifications with the Eero Max 7, offering wireless throughput up to 3.9Gbps and wired throughput up to 9.4Gbps. Each Eero PoE 7 device has two 10GbE ports and can cover up to 2,000 square feet.

The Eero PoE 7 will be available from select internet service providers and professional installers. For businesses seeking a cost-effective solution, the Eero PoE 7 is an ideal choice, designed for properties with high-bandwidth needs.

Next, the Eero Signal is an upright, little device that plugs into your existing Eero router's USB-C port via a USB-C splitter. This device allows your Eero network to work with any USB-C Eero router that supports Wi-Fi 6 or higher. The Eero Signal serves as a cellular backup for your network, providing an additional layer of reliability.

A 4G LTE version of the Eero Signal will be available for $99.99 early next year, while the 5G version will cost $199.99. The actual speed of the Eero Signal's cell backup will depend on factors such as distance from cell towers and available cellular spectrum.

Eero Plus subscribers already have access to a built-in backup internet feature called Eero Internet Backup. However, for those without an annual subscription, Eero will also offer a $199.99/year "Eero Plus 100" plan that provides 100GB of data.

Later in 2026, Eero will release a version of the Signal that uses the 5G RedCap cellular protocol, which is meant to provide low-latency, low-bandwidth service, primarily for IoT and wearable devices. Eero is collaborating with multiple major cellular carriers to provide backup data during internet outages.

In summary, Eero's new offerings, the Eero PoE 7 and the Eero Signal, aim to provide robust, high-speed networking solutions for businesses and homes. Whether you're seeking a powerful tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router or a reliable cellular backup for your Eero network, Eero has you covered.
